Beginning with the anti-fascist resistance movement of the 1950s and experiments in the informal art movement using materials, symbols, and collage, the panorama shifts to neorealist films and escapist entertainment, the traditions of handicrafts and industrial mass culture, and the conflict between abstract and figurative expression.

The protest movement against consumerism in 1968 reached its peak, from which underground films, Arte Povera, radical architecture, and Living Theatre were born.

This outstanding work captures the turmoil, creativity, and openness to new ideas that spanned many fields.
